I am Dane Thornburgh, a Solicitor Advocate practising in commercial litigation, wills and estate litigation, complex family law property matters, contract disputes and complex civil litigation throughout Queensland. I act for businesses, company directors and private clients, providing strategic legal advice and strong courtroom representation from the earliest stages of a dispute through to final resolution.

Courtroom advocacy remains central to my practice.
I have appeared before courts and tribunals for more than two decades and have reported decisions dating back to 2006 and Court of Appeal insurance law decision dating back to 2005.
This depth of courtroom experience enables me to identify litigation risks early, develop practical strategies and confidently advocate for my clients throughout every stage of the legal process.

I commenced practice as a Solicitor with the respected Brisbane firm Bennett & Philp in 2003, developing a strong foundation in insurance and commercial litigation before being called to the Bar as a Barrister-at-Law in 2005.
As a Barrister, I appeared in courts across Australia while maintaining Chambers in Brisbane and later at the prestigious Culwulla Chambers in Sydney. My practice focused primarily on commercial litigation, complex civil disputes and appellate work, building extensive courtroom advocacy experience.
In 2009 I was recruited internationally to join the largest offshore law firm in Vanuatu as a Senior Associate Solicitor and Barrister, before establishing and managing my own offshore litigation practice as Managing Partner in 2012. I returned to Australia in 2019 and continue to practise exclusively in litigation and dispute resolution.
